Cost Accounting Manager
Job Description:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Cost Accounting Manager to join our team in Rocky Mount, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the cost accounting functions, managing inventory, and monitoring receivables. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, inventory management, and experience with SAP. This role will require onsite presence on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of cost accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Develop and implement cost accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Analyze manufacturing costs and variances to identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
Manage inventory accounting processes, including valuation, reconciliation, and reporting.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate inventory records and timely physical inventory counts.
Implement inventory control measures to minimize shrinkage and optimize inventory levels.
Supervise the accounts receivable function, including billing, collections, and credit management.
Monitor receivables aging and work with the team to minimize overdue balances and bad debt exposure.
Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing discrepancies and improve cash flow.
Provide leadership and direction to the accounts receivable team, including training, coaching, and performance management.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team
Utilize SAP ERP system for cost accounting, inventory management, and accounts receivable functions.
Leverage SAP functionalities to streamline processes, generate accurate reports, and facilitate decision-making.
Education Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Desired Background/Skills:
5+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting, inventory management, and/or accounts receivable.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost allocation methodologies.
Proficiency in SAP ERP system is highly desired.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Prior supervisory or leadership experience is a plus.
Ability to work onsite full-time in Rocky Mount, NC.
