Waste Water Technician

Job Description:

Our client, a company based in Youngsville, NC, is searching for a Waste Water Technician to add to their team. This position will be night shift with rotating weekends, with initial training on day shift then transitioning to night shift after you are comfortable with the position. This individual will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the water plant, including the deionizing system and the waste water pre-treatment. The position will require timely recording of operating parameters, cleaning the filter press, and the knowledge and ability to take corrective actions to maintain our supply of deionized water for the production lines, and keep the client's effluent within permitted limits is necessary.


  • Monitor, record, and maintain all pertinent deionized water processing data as per set schedule.

  • Monitor, record, and maintain all pertinent pre-treatment processing data as per set schedule.

  • Periodically clean out the filter presses.

  • Operate a forklift to transfer the filter cake to the dumpster.

  • Take corrective action to prevent water process failure.

  • Prepare batches of acid for anodizing.

  • Prepare batches of etch concentrate.

  • Monitor and record scrubber operation.

  • Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work area.

  • Report any malfunctions or problems.

  • Assist with solving problems.

  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by Management.

Education Requirements:

  • High Diploma or equivalent.

  • High School Chemistry.

Desired Background/Skills:


    • Highly attentive to detail.

    • Basic math skills.

    • Mechanical aptitude.

    • Excellent eyesight (with or without corrective lenses).

    • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

    • Ability to recognize equipment and process problems.

    • Ability to work 12 hour shifts while doing some of the following: continuous walking, driving a forklift, climbing ladders, using a shovel, mixing chemicals to level consistency in the plant waste water tank(s), etc.

    • A municipal operator license is not required for this position.
