Warehouse Operator


Job Description:

Our client, located in Durham, NC, is seeking a first shift Warehouse Operator to add to their team! This individual will work as part of the Warehouse Group to receive finished goods into inventory and to stage and ship finished goods to our client's customers. This position is an important part of the Supply Chain process in ensuring that customers get the right products at the right time to fulfill their order needs. This is a first shift. contract opportunity.


Responsibilities:


  • Follow all Safety, Health and Environmental Standards as set by the client

  • Read and understand warehouse work instructions

  • Post inventory to finished goods

  • Post location detail in warehouse management system (WMS)

  • Retrieve shipment picklists from SAP

  • Pull and stage inventory for shipment

  • Process bills of lading, unload trucks, and receive incoming materials to WMS

  • May be required to operate "Saw" System to produce rolls for shipment

  • Other duties may be assigned

  • Perform forklift operations

  • Scanning bar codes

  • Palatalize products

  • Performing trailer inspection, roll inspection, dock inspection

  • Keep accurate records of inventory, shipping, etc.

  • Enter UPS request form, use UPS online shipping, and package labeling

  • Schedule inbound trucks, toll goods put-up

  • Perform machine inspection, make blade changes, add oil, change dust collector

  • Carry out housekeeping checklist


Education Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or GED required, Associates Degree preferred.


Desired Background/Skills:



    Qualifications:


    • 2-5 years in a manufacturing and/or warehouse/distribution center environment

    • Excellent personal safety and attendance records

    • Familiarity with Durham product styles and operating procedures preferred

    • Licensed to operate forklift

    • Good interpersonal skills; able to communicate professionally with trucking companies

    • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential

    • Experience with SAP Inventory system preferred
