Strategy and Development Lead


Job Description:

Our client, located in Morrisville, is seeking a dedicated Strategy and Development Lead to join their team! The Strategy and Development Lead will drive high-level strategic initiatives at the direction of the CEO and will focus on projects that drive market development, including product portfolio planning, market research and forecasting. The individual will work closely with upstream and downstream marketing functions as well as Commercial, Finance, Operations, and R&D Teams. This is a full time, direct hire opportunity and requires a candidate to be local to the Raleigh/Durham area.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop commercial analysis of new product ideas, with particular emphasis on competitive analysis, scenario analysis, and key market issues.

  • Develop market/innovation strategy and planning efforts for providing solutions to strengthen and increase market share.

  • Drive innovation strategy and execution for research and development of new products, from conceptual stage through market launch.

  • Work in partnership with cross-functional teams to achieve critical business outcomes.

  • Translate business direction and critical deliverables.

  • Lead a disciplined and aggressive process of new product development from generation and collection of ideas, identify market opportunities that align with the strategic plan, perform market assessments and prioritize opportunities for senior managers.

  • Lead the management of partnership and business development relationships.

  • Support the development of departmental goals in line with company objectives.

  • Prepare internal and external presentations, working closely with content owners.


Education Requirements:


  • MBA and 3+ years of supporting executive leadership, required.

  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries to build alignment and drive closure on issues.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and navigate through uncertain situations to drive fo clarity.

  • Experience handling Executive level time-sensitive and confidential business information/challenges.

  • Ability to prioritize effectively to manage multiple, changing priorities.

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data.

  • Ability to anticipate and respond quickly as new opportunities and customer situations arise.

  • Experience in interpreting and/or conducting market research and knowledge of healthcare markets.

  • Well-developed business acumen.


Qualifications:


  • 3-5 years of business experience in the medical device or related life science industry with at least 3 years in product and/or market management.

  • Experience in strategic analysis in a medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech or related life science company.

  • Prior management consulting experience a plus.
