Sr. HR Systems Administrator

Job Description:

The Senior HR Systems Administrator will be responsible for administering RTI?s HR systems, including coordination of updates and patches, configuration and change management, testing, support and troubleshooting; technical leadership on projects that implement or enhance systems; vendor relationship management; acting as a trusted technology partner to our customers, providing recommendations for technology solutions to solve our customer?s efficiency and business challenges.


  • Responsible for ensuring the performance and reliability of all internal HR Systems, including Oracle HCM (?HR Systems?)

  • Coordinate system-wide updates and installing upgrades and patches for HR systems.

  • Maintain HR systems security through user profile management, creates and updates access permissions and maintains user accounts. Monitors and maintains performance metrics for system features, recommends and takes corrective/preventive actions.

  • Perform configuration, change management and testing activities as required, and documents these activities.

  • Perform troubleshooting for software and HR system problems.

  • Lead or participate in projects to implement or enhance systems and applications.

  • Work with customer to define user requirements and system configuration needs, document requirements, system design and configuration documents, and keep documentation up-to-date.

  • Participate in the design, development and implementation of test and production objects.

  • Maintain relationships with existing HR vendors.

  • Provide recommendations for enhancements/changes that may involve custom design, optional and third-party products to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of HR systems.

  • Consult with users on technology changes that will impact work processes. Proactively seek out technology solutions for customer and stakeholder business challenges.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or work experience.

  • 6 years of relevant work experience including 3+ years of experience administering Oracle's HCM system or similar cloud-based human capital management system.

  • ITIL Foundation certification preferred.

Desired Background/Skills:


    • Applied knowledge of, or skills in, approaches and formal processes for systems administration and project management; requires advanced troubleshooting techniques and software design.

    • Extensive knowledge of Oracle HCM Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, and HR modules.

    • Technical writing (requirements, design and configuration documents, test plans).

    • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.

    • In-depth or applied knowledge of or skills in researching, evaluating, and making recommendations for applications, database, and web technology implementations.

    • In-depth or applied knowledge of or skills in installing, configuring, and implementing applications, databases, and web technologies.

    • In-depth or applied knowledge of or skills in diagnosing, repairing and communicating the status of applications, systems, and web technology implementations supported as a level three resource.

    • In-depth knowledge of or skills in project coordination. Applied knowledge of or skills in project management.

    • Applied knowledge of or skills in planning, designing, and developing software solutions and the System Development Life Cycle.

    • Ability to multi-task and pro-actively adjust conflicting priorities.

    • Ability to work well with others.

    • Ability to listen and communicate well both verbally and in writing.

    • Ability to work independently.

    • Attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Ability to obtain proper security clearances as noted by contracts.
