Job Description:

We are hiring Account Representatives to contribute to an on-going government sponsored study. When your job contributes to this important work, it is easy to get excited about what you do! Account Representatives will work in partnership with an international nonprofit research organization, to populate and maintain a large online database called the Occupational Information Network (O*NET). Sponsored by the U. S. Dept. of Labor, O*NET is the nation's primary source of occupational information about the US workforce. Account Representatives will develop rapport and cooperation with varying levels of business professionals nationwide to collect occupational information. Primary communication method will be via phone. Extraordinary attention to detail is necessary. Individuals with business to business experience, sales, marketing, lead generation, and/or account representative experience are encouraged to apply!


  • Contact each selected establishment assigned and verify that it is business eligible. If so, identify an appropriate 'point of contact' (POC)

  • Contact the POC, explain the program, describe the data collection effort, and determine whether the establishment has any of the occupations selected for that business and explain to the POC that an information package will be sent to him or her

  • After the POC has received the information package, call to secure his or her participation and confirm that there are employees in the target occupations

  • Help the POC create a list of employees in the occupations of interest and use the Case Management System to randomly sample a small subset of employees (maximum of eight employees per occupation, 20 employees total) for the establishment

  • Order customized questionnaire packets to be mailed to the POC, and request that the POC distribute the appropriate questionnaire packet to each sampled employee

  • Make follow-up calls to the POC at the prescribed intervals, as necessary

  • Maintain an accurate record in the Case Management System of all your interactions with selected establishments

  • Meet performance expectations in areas of efficiency, quality, response rates and production

  • Adhere to all project protocols and deadlines

  • Always maintain confidentiality of survey data and materials

  • Complete administrative forms in a timely manner and in accordance with the procedures outlined in the program manuals

  • Represent the organization and client in an ethical and professional manner

  • Conduct research in compliance with and adherence to project protocols and deadlines as specified in training and documented in project manual

  • Must type accurately while conducting telephone conversations

  • Comfortable in a high-dialing work environment to complete telephone-based research

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with study participants, coworkers, managers and clients

  • Must be able to meet the following physical demands: sit for long periods of time, speak on the phone for up to 90% of your shift, work in a side-by-side cubicle office environment, communicate through speech and listening, reach with hands and arms, sit and view a computer screen for long periods of time

Education Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED required; Some Post-secondary education preferred

Desired Background/Skills:

  • Has demonstrated job tenure in one of the following sectors or industries including but not limited to: account management, human resources, public health, non-profits, academia, legal, banking, business development, and technical support and sales

  • Displays sharp intuition and instincts related to finding and reaching establishment decision-makers

  • Can easily build rapport, cultivate and maintain relationships; Convey confidence over the phone

  • Can easily develop business to business relationships

  • Can commit to an on-going, full-time position


  • Effective time management and organizational skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including good command of English language; Correct grammar usage and punctuation for professional correspondence a must

  • Proficient with Windows applications and email

  • Comfortable in a high-dialing work environment

  • Complete mandatory two-week paid training

Other Information:

  • Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

  • Salary starts between $16.00 - $20.00/hour depending on education and experience
