Job Description:

Our client, based in Raleigh, NC, connects an innovative community of customers, partners, and contributors to deliver an open source stack of trusted, high-performing solutions. Their Facilities Operations is looking for a strategic space planner to add to their team. In this role, you will cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and utilize metrics and data to develop and implement comprehensive space/occupancy plans for global headquarters. Your daily tasks will vary greatly, and will include leading stakeholder meetings, analytics, plan development, as well as creating and revising documentation and making recommendations to management. This is a full time, contract opportunity with an exciting company.


  • Attend client meetings to collect requirements, present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders and leadership.

  • Analyze space requirement requests and provide conceptual space plans and recommendations to real estate team(s) and/or stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with other team members to gain business intelligence on company priorities.

  • Create block or stack plan(s), charter(s) and generate program test fits in accordance to established parameters.

  • Develop site occupancy plans for supply and demand: analysis of forecasted headcount and seat supply projections, supporting graphs, stacking plans, move scenarios, challenges and pros/cons for each recommendation.

  • Responsible for periodic Time Utilization Survey implementation and management.

  • Oversight in audits (including seat assignments, occupancy, vacancy, labs and equipment) and present audit data to stakeholders and leadership.

  • Measure, monitor and report cost saving and other value-added contributions.

  • Make recommendations to enhance operational efficiency, service delivery, cost savings, and asset utilization.

  • Engage with stakeholders regarding specialty space requests and find creative ways to meet the team needs while maintaining focus on the overall site plan.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree; or equivalent work experience.

Desired Background/Skills:


    • 7+ years of planning/space management experience in a corporate office setting.

    • Proficient in variety of computer applications like Google Suite, Jive, LibreOffice, Oracle, and BlueJeans.

    • Basic AutoCAD skills.

    • Basic IWMS/CAFM principle understanding.

    • Solid troubleshooting mindset, creative problem-solver, being able to make connections across complex ideas, capable of effective time management.

    • Passionate and committed to providing the best experience possible for associates.

    • Highly motivated learner and team player with positive attitude to challenges, constantly improving and adapting on the fly and contributing to the team.

    • Great communicator and listener with strong experience in presenting across all levels of an organization.

    • Self motivated with the ability to work with little direct supervision in a fast-paced corporate environment while effectively managing time and tasks.
