Soldering Technician

Job Description:

Our client in Morrisville, NC, is seeking an experienced Soldering Technician to add to their team. This position will be responsible for following assembly/test instructions to successfully complete the manufacturing and testing of the component and device. Due to the substantial amount of soldering required by the assembly process, soldering skills are required. This is a contract to hire position.


  • Follow documented procedures to execute process and adapt to required changes

  • Execute each step of the assembly and test processes in compliance with the instruction described in the procedures

  • Solder fine gauge wires on very small printed circuit boards

  • Learn and execute "End of Line" testing procedures for medical device

  • Report to supervisor any problem encountered in the manufacturing process

  • Record data (test results, serial/lot number, etc.) neatly and accurately

  • Keep work area(s) cleaned and organized in compliance with manufacturing requirements

  • Train and work in compliance with the safety requirements of the production area(s)

  • Learn the equipment tracking database system and execute required actions such as equipment preventative maintenance and calibration on a timely basis

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Associated degree in a technical field preferred

Desired Background/Skills:


    • Experience working on very fine gauge wire soldering

    • Proven ability to work in high performing, talented manufacturing engineering teams

    • 3-5 years of experience in delicate soldering

    • IPC training preferred

    • Experienced in delicate electro-mechanical device assembly with medical device experience
