Senior Benefits Analyst


Job Description:

Our client, a life sciences company based in Raleigh, NC is looking for a Benefits Analyst to join their team! The Benefits Analyst will be responsible for the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan. She/He will also work with the Broker of Record (BOR) on International Benefits Administration. This is a full time, contract position.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.

  • Assists with new-hire Benefits orientations.

  • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.

  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.

  • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.

  • Enrolls employees with carriers and processes life status changes.

  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.

  • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.

  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.

  • Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.

  • Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.

  • Verifies, reconciles, and processes monthly billings invoices, and maintains reconciliation spreadsheets.

  • Serves as a liaison to insurance carriers regarding claim problems, issues, and concerns confronting employee participants. Escalates issues as necessary to the Compensation & Benefits Manager.

  • Completes annual filings; EEOC reporting, OSHA forms reporting annual accidents reports, etc.

  • Ensures all plan filings and audits are performed to maintain plan qualification and governmental compliance of including but not limited to Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), HIPAA, DOL, and Internal Revenue Code.

  • Liaison for Worker?s Compensation claims between vendor and injured employee.

  • Prepares memorandums outlining and explaining benefits policies and procedures to a variety of audiences.

  • Works with internal and external auditing teams as needed to ensure accuracy of plan data.

  • Responsible for data maintenance and regular data audits.


Education Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field


Desired Background/Skills:


  • Knowledge of Alight BenAdmin is a plus

  • Professional Certification in Benefits desirable


Qualifications:


  • 6+ years of Benefits experience

  • Benefits knowledge and experience

  • Communicates effectively by remaining clear, concise and professional

  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to plan, prioritize and multi-task

  • Strong Microsoft Office knowledge, particularly with Excel

  • Global experience preferred
