Security Administrative Assistant

Job Description:

Our client, a market-leading innovator and manufacturer of semiconductors, has an immediate opening for a Security Administrative Assistant for the Security Department. This is a full time, contract position based in Raleigh, NC.


  • Manage the contractor badge process including site approval, restricted area access requirements, badge deactivation and collection.

  • Coordinate with personnel in EHS, Legal, Facilities, and other entities to ensure only contractors authorized by all departments are approved for access.

  • Perform access analysis and request area approvals related to construction projects and contractor responsibilities as needed.

  • Follow-up, resolve, and escalate all issues related to contractor access control.

  • Plan and execute regular audits of contractor access privileges.

  • Train internal and external personnel on the contractor process as required.

  • Maintain current database of contractors while investigating other report and storage solutions for contractor information.

  • Sustain extensive communication on line and in person with internal security personnel, sponsors, project managers and external contractor, vendor, consultant, etc., companies.

  • Provide administrative and technical support to both internal and external customers related to contractor access control.

  • Develop and implement contractor authorization process improvements.

  • Make recommendations for process improvements

Education Requirements:

  • A minimum Associate level college degree preferred

Desired Background/Skills:

  • Prior experience with access control systems is a plus.

  • ASIS certified Associate Protection Professional (APP), Physical Security Professional (PSP) or certification from other national professional organization

  • Two years of operational security experience

  • Completion of security or business-related college coursework

  • Knowledge of SQL database structure and function

  • Experience working in a regulated environment


  • Strong organizational skills and high level of attention to detail

  • Must be able to evaluate situations and demonstrate sound decision-makin

  • High emotional intelligence to effectively engage with all stakeholders

  • Must be a self-starter and perform with minimal guidance

  • Exceptional abilities in both interpersonal and professional communication

  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

  • Aptitude for learning, applying new skills and ambition to seek constant improvement
