Quality Engineer


Job Description:

Our client, leader in water technology products, is seeking a Quality Design Engineer to join their team! The primary responsibilities of the Quality Engineer are responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership for the evaluation and development of the manufacturing process and design engineering. The ideal candidate will ensure the manufacturing sustains the AERCO business requirements and monitors the ongoing operations of outsourcing projects assuring high-quality standards and timely execution of milestones. This opportunity is a direct-hire opportunity located in Saint Pauls, North Carolina.


Responsibilities:


  • Participate in and lead the continuous improvement and overall management of quality, ensuring compliance with corporate requirements, ISO, and all other applicable quality standards.

  • Work with all areas of the company to develop, implement, and audit key business processes, procedures, and work instructions.

  • Initiate, monitor, complete, and audit Corrective Actions for effectiveness.

  • Support all initiatives pertaining cost of quality/cost of failure.

  • Provide necessary support to ensure continued ISO certification by being an internal auditor and conducting monthly Internal ISO Audits.

  • Support the Tiered Daily Management Process and Continuous Improvement Operating System.

  • Provide training and support upon the development of staff.

  • Lead and provide support for Kaizen events, Six Sigma projects, and daily activities that will support manufacturing, engineering, and quality efforts.

  • Follow a Six Sigma DMAIC road map to drive continuous performance improvements and cost reductions.

  • Complete root cause investigations and implements corrective actions and preventive actions by participating in problem-solving teams.


Education Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering or manufacturing area required


Desired Background/Skills:


  • Prior experience with the implementation and use of Statistical Process Control and Continuous Improvement Tools.

  • Supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.


Qualifications:


  • Must have 5 to 7 years? experience with the use and implementation of Quality concepts in a manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and problem-solving abilities are required.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Required.

  • Must have experience in basic Metrology and Calibration.

  • Certified Lead Auditor or ISO Auditor is a plus.

  • Domestic travel is mandatory.
