QA Architect


Job Description:

Our client, located in Cary, NC, is seeking a skilled QA Architect to add to their team of professionals! This individual will primarily be the lead for Quality Assurance Infrastructure efforts including testing platforms, quality assurance tools, and testing frameworks. The QA Architect will also be working within the Quality Assurance department supporting the development teams with their QA activities.


Responsibilities:


  • Implement QA infrastructure (tools, platforms, and frameworks) using recommendations on cost-benefit analysis.

  • Recommendations will include project proposals and plans. This includes acquiring new infrastructure and retirement of existing infrastructure.

  • Maintain an inventory of QA tools with upgrade roadmaps to be shared with software development teams.

  • Coordinate and plan QA infrastructure upgrades with IS&S and Development teams.

  • Work with Operations to manage and address issues with the supported QA Environment.

  • Implement scalability or performance enhancements or configuration changes to support QA Engineer testing needs.

  • Implement QA Integration changes with SDLC Process tools.

  • Conduct or facilitate QA Training and Workshops for QA Engineers.

  • Provide regular status updates to QA Manager regarding progress.

  • Disseminate QA Infrastructure changes to QA Engineers and development teams.

  • Responsible for resolving technical issues and help QA team members to move past the bottlenecks.

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining standard QA practice across board, which should help increase test automation and give visibility on QA efforts.

  • Creation and maintenance of our client's test Frameworks.

  • Guide team to strive automating all high ROI test automation candidates.


Education Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field desired

    Qualifications:


    • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously

    • Ability to explain concepts with technical and non-technical staff

    • Work efficiently within assigned project schedules

    • Effectively work with all co-workers; team player

    • Communicate effectively and in a professional manner

    • Exhibit ability to learn complex business functions with limited guidance

    • 7+ years - Basic Java

    • 3+ years - Selenium WebDriver with Java

    • 3+ years - SQL

    • 1+ years - SOAP & REST Webservices Testing (SOAP UI or alternate tool)

    • 2+ years of Non-functional Test Experience

    • Demonstrated understanding of SDLC and QA processes and best practices in accordance with Agile/SCRUM practices

    • Exhibit ability to learn complex business functions
