Purchasing and Administrative Support

Job Description:

Our client is looking for an individual to fill an Administrative Support Purchasing position. This position will be 75%-80% administrative and 20%-25% interacting with parts. This individual will participate in all purchasing functions for production in a given department. The schedule for this positions is Monday through Friday in support of a 24/7 operation. A successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to work in a small group with minimum supervision and have good customer service skills.


  • Determine purchasing requirements by reviewing inventory, MP2 and purchase requests

  • Control purchases through proper planning and inventory control

  • Complete routine cycle counts

  • Determine specifications for parts by analyzing use requirements and consulting with users

  • Maintain the MP2 database; delete obsolete parts, create part numbers, verify vendor info and ensure reorder points/quantities are up to date

  • Ensure all repairable parts are sent out for repair in a timely manner

  • Track the status and repair of all repairable parts

  • Identify suppliers by researching materials, equipment and supply availability; evaluating alternatives

  • Obtain quotes by forwarding requirements to suppliers. Place these orders by submitting requisitions in Oracle

  • Ensure materials, equipment and supplies availability by tracking and expediting delivery

  • Track tool down parts from ordering to delivery of the part to the requester.

  • Track warranty parts and warranty repairs.

Education Requirements:

  • Prefer at least a 2 year degree

Desired Background/Skills:


    • Must have 2 years of prior purchasing experience

    • Must be able lift up to 50 pounds

    • Able to obtain a forklift license

    • Excel and Oracle experience

    • Detailed orientated

    • Excellent time management and communications skills

    • Team player with a positive attitude

    • Self motivated and customer service oriented
