Process Technician

Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Process Technician to join our client's team in Morrisville, NC. Qualified candidates will be self-motivated and enthusiastic towards meeting daily goals. The Process Technician will perform set-up and operation of CMP equipment and find areas of improvement in production processes.


  • Perform a variety of functions in the production of semiconductor devices

  • Set-up, operate, load, and monitor specialized equipment to ensure quality product is produced

  • May be responsible for monitoring equipment operation, maintaining supply levels, inspecting final product, cleaning the work environment, and performing data entry

  • Assist in setting up workstations and following written or verbal process specifications in completing all assignments

  • Perform set up and operation of CMP equipment and processes

  • Make recommendations to engineering on ways to improve process control and yield

  • Support engineering activities for process improvement

  • Maintain accurate documentation of the wafer/lot processing

  • Perform daily and weekly qualifications on the wafer processing equipment and be able to perform maintenance work as needed

Education Requirements:

  • AS degree in an electronic field or 3 years prior experience in semiconductor industry

Desired Background/Skills:

  • Chemical Mechanical Polishing (CMP) - Process of smoothing surfaces with the combination of chemical and mechanical forces

  • Able to use Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.)

  • Ability to attain a "Trusted" security clearance


  • Experience working in semiconductor manufacturing fab is preferred but not required

  • Basic computer and math skills

  • Ability to lift up to 35-55 pounds

  • Good communication skills, both written and oral; ability to read and write effectively

  • Comfortable working around chemicals

  • Ability to multi-task and approach tasks with detail-oriented manner

  • May be required to wear a cleanroom smock and utilize proper safety equipment

  • Great work ethic and ability to work with a diverse team

  • Good understanding of Statistical Process Control principles and application

  • Able to understand and communicate effectively with Management, Engineering, Vendors, Customer
