Plastics Machinery Sales Engineer

Job Description:

Our client, a leader in the development of high-speed blow molding and injection molding machinery, has an immediate opening for an experienced Plastics Machinery Sales Engineer. The Plastics Machinery Sales Engineer will be responsible for growth of revenue particularly focused on service focused sales for the plastic machinery while also providing leadership for the concept team. The successful candidate must be highly motivated, organized and a great communicator. The Plastics Machinery Sales Engineer will work closely with the engineering/technical service teams to coordinate activities, while managing the sales process.


  • Secure sales and produce profit margins.

  • Promotion Plan and Budget for product.

  • Travel to existing and new customers, domestic and international; Generate leads and close new sales.

  • Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of company's relationship with them.

  • Provide knowledge of the product process including machinery, molds, technique and plastic raw materials to customers and internally.

  • Continually develop knowledge of the business climate, applications and competition for defined geography and accounts.

  • Maintain data relative to accounts and activities and will document customer interactions.

Education Requirements:

    Desired Background/Skills:


      • 5+ years proven outside value-added sales success in plastics or manufacturing environment.

      • Strong analytical skills for applying metrics and measurements in a sales environment.

      • Knowledgeable of the product process including the machinery, molds, techniques and plastic raw materials

      • Ability to problem solve and thrive under pressure.

      • Highly organized, excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

      • Capable of producing and communicating sales documents.

      • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)

      • Background in manufacturing or technical related field.

      • Valid passport and able to travel domestic and international up to 20%.
