Phlebotomist

Job Description:

Our partner, a national provider of diagnostic testing, has an immediate need for Phlebotomist to support their Charlotte locations. These positions will work on an open ended contract basis with potential for full time hire. We are currently hiring for 1st shift roles, however flexibility to work overtime is required. The pay rates for these positions will be $13/hr and is dependent on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Will perform blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups

• Complete urine drug screen collections and paternity collections

• Will also complete breath/saliva alcohol testing as needed

• May perform data entry of test requisition information

• Pack and process specimens

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Phlebotomy certification (where required) from an accredited agency, completion of an approved phlebotomy training course

Desired Background/Skills:

• 2+ years of experience with high volume blood draws

Qualifications:

• Phlebotomy certification (where required) from an accredited agency, completion of an approved phlebotomy training course, or equivalent experience through previous employment

• Minimum 1+ year of verifiable phlebotomy experience

• Exhibit proficiency in all of the following: blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups, urine drug screen collections, paternity collections, breath/saliva alcohol testing, LCM/Cyber Tools, TestCup, pediatric blood collections, difficult draws (patients in mental health facilities, long-term care facilities, drug rehabilitation facilities, prisons, psychiatric facilities, or similar facilities)

• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety, and ability to effectively communicate the importance of compliance and safety to other employees
