Part Time Retail Administrative Associate

Job Description:

Our client, a global non-profit research organization in RTP, is seeking to hire a part-time Retail Administrative Associate to support the organization's company store, including sourcing, sales, inventory, and distribution; shipping and receiving of corporate marketing materials to and from regional offices and special events/conferences; and general administrative support to corporate programs, specifically Corporate Events and the Corporate Social Responsibility and Charitable Giving teams. This position is a part-time contract to hire position located in RTP, NC.


  • Provide customer service and onsite sales support for store customers

  • Provide customer service and sales support for remote store customers

  • Maintain store displays, including stocking

  • Support inventory monitoring and reporting

  • Work with selected vendors to procure goods and services in support of organization's business/marketing needs

  • Provide store oversight when manager is off duty or away

  • Interact with staff at all levels of the organization, advising them on appropriate promotional items for their marketing events and activities

  • Work in accordance with company inventory, procurement, payment, and accounting systems

  • Assist with set up of catering, in-person registration, and logistics for various corporate events

  • Provide general administrative support to corporate programs

  • Assist with distribution of various discount passes and event tickets to organization's staff members

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Desired Background/Skills:


    • Ability to provide outstanding customer service in a retail environment

    • Excellent written and oral communications skills

    • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

    • Ability to use retail inventory tracking system and point of sale system

    • Excellent time management and organizational skills

    • Must be able to handle/manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete them within established deadlines

    • Ability to merchandise effectively

    • Ability to adjust to priorities and manage time wisely

    • Ability to maintain records and documentation

    • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner and listen attentively to others, understand materials and provide guidance
