Part Time File Clerk

Job Description:

Our client provides legal services in Greensboro, NC and is seeking a qualified Part Time File Clerk to add to their team! This individual will provide administrative support to attorneys in a file management project, along with other duties as assigned. This is a part time, contract opportunity.


  • Assist in the management of law firm files, including drafting file transfer letters, managing file transfer information, create spreadsheets of file/client information, and marking files for destruction

  • Work in fast paced environment, and learn new processes and software quickly, manage deadlines

  • Work on computer-based programs for up to the majority (approximately 80%) of the work day

  • Research contact information for clients

  • Apply the North Carolina Rules of Professional Conduct and calculate Statutes of Limitation

  • Work well and efficiently on-site in Greensboro in a mixed/open space environment

Education Requirements:

  • 4-year degree

  • Legal experience preferred

Desired Background/Skills:


    • Ability to lift 25-30 pounds

    • Completion of professional responsibility coursework

    • In depth knowledge of, and strong skills using the Internet, Windows, MS Office, and Google Docs

    • In depth knowledge of and experience with the North Carolina Rules of Professional Conduct

    • High-level of organization and efficiency

    • Professionalism with clients and co-workers

    • Able to comply with confidentiality of information

    • Ability to follow processes/outlines and learn new tasks quickly

    • Attention to detail

    • Ability to problem solve and find solutions independently
