Job Description:

Our client, a Technology Startup company located in the Durham area, is seeking an Operations Manager to add to their team. This individual will be responsible for maintaining and improving the company's office, while planning and promoting company-wide events to engage employees and foster our client's work culture. This role requires someone who is ready to work at a fast pace, juggling projects large and small.


Responsibilities:


  • Nurture a happy and productive office

  • Maintain kitchen and "All Hands" area

  • Organize storage space

  • Take inventory of supply space

  • Maintain meeting spaces; able to assemble seating, decorate, and flip spaces when needed

  • Manage vendor relationships and work agreements

  • Cater orders as needed within budget for company-wide events (team lunches, breakfasts, etc.)

  • Plan events (cross-departmental mixers, holiday parties, celebratory events, supporting events planned by employees, etc.)

  • Assist with employee onboarding and orientation support

  • Conceive new activities, contests and special days

  • Conceptualize, planning and execute events and new work space ideas

  • Film, edit, and archive photos around the office and at events

  • Create and distribute communications, invites, posters and event ads

  • Take initiative in improving the team, improving the customer (the internal employee) experience, and improving your skill set


Education Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree

    Qualifications:


    • 5+ years of experience in running facilities, office management or comparable work

    • Excellent organization, communication, and relationship management skills

    • Experience in consulting with executive staff, managers and employees providing them a people first approach

    • Excels in a team-based, collaborative environment working across the organization to advance the mission, values and goals

    • Creative problem-solver
