On-site HR Manager


Job Description:

We are looking for an on-site manager to join our team! The On-Site Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with client managers and supporting contract employees on assignment at the client site. This individual will manage the onboarding process for new contract employees, provide employee relations for on-site contingent workforce, and have daily involvement with operational activities. The On-Site Manager will provide advice, assistance and follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation. This position will be located at our client site and will have support from leadership and support teams at the corporate office. The expected position hours are 8am - 5pm M-F with the possibility of occasional off-hours work to support urgent client needs.


Responsibilities:


  • Strengthen current manager relationships to ensure satisfaction and present solutions to resolve customer issues

  • Create, review and update client specific company handbooks and policies

  • Facilitate bi-weekly timesheet collection and payroll processing

  • Conduct periodic floor walks on all shifts to assist employees with issues or recognize a job well done

  • Investigate issues, settle employee concerns, and follow up with the employees to resolve difficult situations and bring about an appropriate solution

  • Resolve employee relations issues by collaborating with management on disciplinary infractions and process terminations when necessary

  • Reduce turnover and absenteeism through effective mentoring and coaching of employees; ensuring immediate follow-up on all attendance compliance issues and periodic review of policies and procedures for consistency of application

  • Administer evaluations and performance reviews as appropriate

  • Liaise with client hiring managers, human resources department and appropriate vendors

  • Provide new employee orientation, which includes general policies, client-specific rules and regulations, job responsibilities and requirements, and benefits

  • Work on various projects as assigned


Education Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree preferred


Desired Background/Skills:


  • PHR preferred but not required


Qualifications:


  • 1+ years of Human Resources experience

  • Ability to handle and resolve problems efficiently and effectively

  • Successfully establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision

  • Able to communicate effectively in verbal and written correspondence, including business interactions and Internet (email) communication

  • Skilled in establishing strong relationships with customers (employee and client)

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task

  • Knowledge of various computer software packages, including strong MS Word and Excel skills
