Job Description:

Our client, located in Raleigh, NC, is seeking an experienced Network Administrator to add to their team! This individual will be responsible for monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting of all local and wide-area networks utilized by the Association in accordance with established policies and expectations of the client. The position will collaborate with various departments and key branch personnel to analyze, provide specifications for, and develop solutions for the advancement of the client's mission. This is a full time, direct hire opportunity with an exciting company.


Responsibilities:


  • Establish and maintain system security and integrity of the computer network operations and data, including establishing and maintaining network user accounts, active directory configuration, OUs, GPOs, and folder and application security.

  • Establish VPN, LAN, WAN and DMZ specifications by conferring with users.

  • Analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements.

  • Designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.

  • Administer servers, virtual servers, NAS, SAN, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, software deployment, security updates and patches.

  • Maintain network servers such as file servers, VPN Gateways and intrusion detection systems.

  • Secure the networks by developing and implementing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation systems; maintaining documentation.

  • Monitor and administer the LAN and WAN, keeping system information and diagrams up-to-date and maintaining complete network logs and detailed server inventory information.

  • Continually improve the networks by monitoring and evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput and latency.

  • Planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.

  • Ensure that back-ups of all network configuration files, security structures, and user accounts are maintained in accordance with best practices.

  • Train appropriate branch personnel in system security for LANs and correct email usage.

  • Ensure compliance with Association policy and all information system and telecommunication laws and regulations.

  • Diagnose, or assist branch and IT personnel in diagnosis, of hardware and software problems and recommend and assist with appropriate solutions.

  • Coordinate network training programs for IT staff involved in support of network services, phones and server hardware.

  • Load and update software applications in conjunction with Director of Support Services and ensure compliance with licensing regulations.

  • Protects organizational value by keeping information confidential.


Education Requirements:


  • Four-year degree, preferably in computer science or equivalent work experience.


Desired Background/Skills:



    Qualifications:


    • Minimum 3 years of experience in information technology and advanced level knowledge of network topologies.

    • 1-3 years of demonstrated experience with VoIP phone systems.

    • 1-3 years of demonstrated experience with Vlans, routers and network switching.

    • Advanced competency level in VM Ware configuration, troubleshooting and administration.

    • Advanced competency level in Microsoft Server administration.

    • Knowledge in Microsoft Exchange server setup and administration.

    • Proven leadership and relationship building skills.

    • Must possess customer service, problem solving and interpersonal skills.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of staff and the ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
