Job Description:

Our client, a durable medical equipment supplier in Wilmington, is seeking a Medical Records Clerk to join their team. This company is passionate about career and personal development and growth. The Medical Records Clerk will be responsible for administrative work as well as answering phone calls. The hours for the Medical Records Clerk are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with 1 hour for lunch. The Medical Records Clerk must be able to type 70 WPM.


Responsibilities:


  • Answer phones and resolve customer concerns

  • Receive and sort incoming mail and payments

  • Pull correct paperwork and upload copies to patient files

  • Input data and verify all information is correct prior to billing

  • Perform clerical duties to ensure complete filing of paperwork

  • Generate summary reports for all payments

  • Help maintain an orderly file system

  • Comply with each insurance company's billing procedures


Education Requirements:


  • High school diploma required

  • Associate degree preferred


Desired Background/Skills:


  • Data Entry skills - must be able to type 70 WPM

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of medical terminology a plus


Qualifications:


  • Computer literacy

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

  • Knowledge of standard office equipment

  • Ability to type 70 WPM
