Medical Laboratory Technologist


Job Description:

Our partner, a national provider of diagnostic testing, has an immediate need for a Medical Laboratory Technician to support their Charlotte location. These positions will start as a contract with a potential for long-term opportunity. The shift will be Monday- Friday, 8am to 6pm, however the shifts will be flexible. Hourly pay rate will range from $17- $18/hr based on experience.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests and assays in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations in a designated technical department

  • Performs STAT tests and analyses of samples and sends reports out to physicians

  • Perform QC and maintenance of instruments

  • Interprets results, subject to verification by Technologist/Supervisor

  • Processes and tests specimens for in-house testing and referral

  • May perform data entry of patient information

  • Pack and process specimens


Education Requirements:


  • Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent is required


Desired Background/Skills:


  • 1+ years of experience with high volume blood draws


Qualifications:


  • Minimum 1+ year of verifiable phlebotomy experience

  • Processes and tests specimens for in-house testing and referral to labs

  • Answer phones, files, maintains logs and supplies on hand as required

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety, and ability to effectively communicate the importance of compliance and safety to other employees
