Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Description:

Our partner, a national provider of diagnostic testing, has an immediate need for a Medical Laboratory Technician to support their Greensboro location. These positions will start as a contract. The shift will be Monday -Friday, 8am to 5pm, however flexibility to work overtime is required. The pay rate for this position will be $15- $16/hr with one to three years of experience.


  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests and assays in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations in a designated technical department

  • Performs STAT tests and analyses of samples and sends reports out to physicians

  • Perform QC and maintenance of instruments

  • Interprets results, subject to verification by Technologist/Supervisor

  • Processes and tests specimens for in-house testing and referral

  • May perform data entry of patient information

  • Pack and process specimens

Education Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent is preferred

Desired Background/Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience with high volume blood draws


  • Minimum 1+ year of verifiable phlebotomy experience

  • Processes and tests specimens for in-house testing and referral to labs

  • Answer phones, files, maintains logs and supplies on hand as required

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety, and ability to effectively communicate the importance of compliance and safety to other employees
