Marketing Assistant


Job Description:

Our client in the Raleigh, NC area is seeking a driven and professional Marketing Assistant to add to their growing team. This individual will be responsible for assisting and providing support in the coordination of the economic development department's marketing and communications initiatives, talent recruitment, and site development programs. This is a full time, direct hire position with an exciting company.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for supporting the Senior Marketing Manager in all marketing functions.

  • Responsible for overall website maintenance and enhancements of the websites including writing monthly blog posts, and capturing photos, rankings, and other key news.

  • Assist with maintaining social media content and engagement on social media platforms, including Digital Ambassador Program, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

  • Support the development of marketing collateral and advertisements in collaboration with the broader team.

  • Assist the organization with key communications, including the coordination of meeting materials and PowerPoint presentations.

  • Assist marketing manager with agendas, meeting recaps, and next steps.

  • Coordinate the development of monthly economic development e-newsletter and scorecard in partnership with other team members.

  • Own/assist functions related to local and non-local conferences including logistics, marketing materials and handouts, giveaways/promotional items, and executing social media plans.

  • Support and promote the client's initiatives by managing the website, Triangle Tuesdays virtual career fairs, and responding to inquiries from individuals considering moving to the area, job seekers, and companies who are hiring.

  • Coordinate and participate in the organization's engagement with local career fairs and local and external industry trade shows to include logistics, marketing materials and handouts, giveaways/promotional items, and executing social media plans.


Education Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communication, English, Journalism, Marketing or related.


Desired Background/Skills:


  • Proofreading skills are preferred but not required.

  • Graphic design experience preferred.


Qualifications:


  • 1-2 years experience implementing initiatives in marketing and/or communications.

  • Economic development or place marketing a plus.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects at once.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and attention to detail required.

  • Ability to speak in public and present at meetings as needed.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, partners, investors and the business community.

  • Flexibility with work related events before and after normal working hours.

  • Proven experience in time management, writing, project management and social media.

  • Knowledge, experience and comfort using and learning technologies including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Design Suite, and social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.)

  • Graphic design experience preferred but not required.
