Manager, Supplier Integration Management

Job Description:

The Vendor Management Manager is responsible for establishing a best in class vendor management program in the area of Operational Stores Supplies: Stores, DC's and CSC's in support of approximately $125M in spending over a 5 year period. As a Vendor Management Manager, you will be responsible for developing vendor management best practices, resolving day to day ordering issues between AAP and our key supplier, identifying and mitigating risk and overseeing vendor relationships. This role is dependent on integrating and working directly with the key stakeholders and suppliers.


  • Create a strategic vendor management program that leads in best practices and aligns with strategy, goals and objectives of key business areas, procurement and supplier

  • Build vendor categorizations, measuring key metrics within those categories and executing the relationship strategy for each category

  • Develop and conduct vendor performance evaluations, techniques, processes and reporting

  • Establish and manage risk management plan for tier 1 supplier

  • Continuous and process improvement, both internally and externally, that identifies areas of value in the form of higher efficiency, effectiveness, savings and/or innovation

  • Manage vendor relationships

  • Identify and grow strategic vendor relationships into strategic partnerships

  • Relationship management with key internal stakeholders, understanding stakeholders? challenges and build long term relationships with stakeholders.

  • Drive value initiatives in the form of cost reduction, efficiencies and innovation with vendors within category

  • Link enterprise-wide supply and demand

  • Troubleshoot all vendor problems

  • Teach end users how to effectively utilize suppliers web ordering portal and system

  • Develop and provide reports as needed to internal users to demonstrate effective use of the suppliers system

Education Requirements:

    Desired Background/Skills:


      • Experience in procurement and/or vendor management

      • 2-7 years of experience in related field preferred

      • Strong aptitudes in project management, process management risk management and change management

      • Strong analytical skills

      • Skilled in root cause analysis

      • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with disparate teams and be considered a thought leader by stakeholders who drives ROI through marketing partnerships.

      • Must be able to understand how to successfully support stores operational goals and objectives and align procurement strategy with those goals and objectives.

      • Ability to navigate a matrixed organization

      • Strong interpersonal skills

      • Strong vendor relationship development and industry experience

      • Professional qualification / certification from related professional body, (ISM-CPM / CPSM, APICS) preferred
