Maintenance Technician


Job Description:

Our client, located in Durham, NC, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to add to their team! This individual is responsible for performing general/routine and preventive maintenance and repairing and troubleshooting of Spin Packs. This position is expected to perform all of these activities while adhering to Company standards for safety, clean environment, quality, productivity and meeting the requirements of both internal and external customers. This position is also expected to take a leadership role in the Maintenance Department and drive a culture of Safety, Operational Excellence, and Accountability.


Responsibilities:


  • Drive a culture of safety awareness and risk assessment in the Maintenance Group

  • Perform all maintenance tasks on spin packs and filtration units

  • Participate in line shutdowns and startups

  • Monitor and upgrade equipment for efficiency, safety, and reliability

  • Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed

  • Maintain company-required performance and maintenance records

  • Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed

  • Assist and train other maintenance personnel as assigned


Education Requirements:


  • Certificate or Vocational school training or equivalent work experience in Machine Shop, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Industrial Electricity


Desired Background/Skills:


  • Certificate in Sheet Metal, HVAC, Pipe Fitting or Machine Shop desired


Qualifications:


  • 5+ years experience in a manufacturing/plant maintenance department/shop

  • Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and HVAC equipment

  • Able to install and maintain machinery, motors, drive systems, cutting systems, bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics, and controls

  • Good command of basic math, reading, writing, and computer (excel, word, etc)

  • Good communications skills, both verbal and written

  • Excellent sense of safety awareness and good housekeeping

  • Must be able to work well in a team environment, with electricians, operators, and other personnel to assist in troubleshooting and repairs

  • Ability to work call-ins, overtime or non-regular hours as needed

  • Able to obtain powered industrial truck certification

  • Good problem-solving ability
