Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description:

Our client, located in Youngsville, NC, is in search of a Maintenance Mechanic to join their team! In this role, you will actively support the requirements of the Engineering and Maintenance Department as directed by the Maintenance Manager. Responsibilities will include, performing fabrication and repairs to all mechanical and plumbing systems of the facilities and the production lines, as well as other related equipment. This position is a full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity.


  • Perform regular inspections of all production, utility, and facility related systems

  • Troubleshoot, and make repairs to mechanical, plumbing and pump systems

  • Research and document information on repair of any mechanical or plumbing systems

  • Conduct parts research, and develop operational instructions as necessary

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a preventive maintenance program

  • Update and improve the spare parts list for the facilities and production areas

  • Assist in developing and documenting the Preventative Maintenance Program for facilities, equipment and systems

  • Identify MRO materials needed, to maintain the established spare parts inventory to support repair actions or upcoming projects

  • Assist in establishing, and maintaining an indexed spare parts system for MRO parts used to support the facility and production line systems

  • Perform some fabrication, and repair of parts, to include some basic machining, and MIG welding

  • Respond to work order requests generated by the Safety /Maintenance Work Order program

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma

  • Minimum of 5 years' related work experience

Desired Background/Skills:

  • Some experience with plumbing, fittings, and valve systems


  • Technical training/experience in mechanical and pumps systems or a related area

  • 1-2 years of experience in the use of mechanical drawings and fabrication of parts from those drawings

  • Ability to operate required hand and power tools in order to perform required repairs with necessary optical, auditory, and manual dexterity

  • Be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds

  • Must be capable of performing tasks requiring repetitive twisting, bending and stooping

  • Ability to read, and understand mechanical drawings, and their supporting technical instructions

  • Ability to use a keyboard to enter, retrieve or transform data on a computer
