IT Asset & Inventory Manager - Part-Time

Job Description:

Our client, located in the Durham, NC area, is seeking a motivated IT Asset and Inventory Manager. This individual will need to own and improve processes within our client's company. This is a part time, contract to hire opportunity with a growing company!


  • Responsible for PC imaging, configuration and application installations

  • Works closely with end-users

  • Tracks workload within various IT tools

  • Manages PC and accessory inventory: returned assets, asset disposition and internal inventory

  • Installs and supports both hardware and software components for user group

  • Performs preventive maintenance, test and repair of equipment

  • Evaluates system configuration and software to ensure effective use of hardware resources

  • Addresses and resolves hardware, software and customer issues

  • Engages users to determine their potential future business requirements

  • Provides positive customer experience with each customer interaction

  • Responsible for installation and maintenance of moderately complex hardware/software systems and supporting smaller user groups

  • Operates, monitors and performs moderately complex troubleshooting of equipment, networks, and data processing/batching; assists with logging and documentation of equipment and processes

  • Preparation of PCs and servers for shipping, which includes boxing and stacking pallets and coordinating distribution with the Shipping team

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred

Desired Background/Skills:


    • 1+ years' hands-on IT experience

    • Experience supporting IT hardware/assets

    • Experience supporting end users

    • Able to troubleshoot IT issues

    • Working knowledge with Windows 7 and/or Windows 10

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook in an Exchange environment

    • Strong trouble shooting skills

    • Strong communication skills

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced corporate environment

    • Strong organization and prioritization skills; ability to juggle and track many tasks and complete them in a timely manner

    • Ability to work well as part of a team, sharing research, knowledge and leading practices with team members

    • Must be able to frequently lift heavy objects/boxes, typically up to approximately 30 lbs

    • Must be legally authorized to work in the US with no restrictions; visa sponsorship not offered with this position
