Job Description:

Our client, a global non-profit research organization, is hiring a part-time Institutional Contactor (IC) to support one of their projects at their site in Chicago, IL. The project that the IC would work on collects information from universities about enrollment and financial support of graduate students and post-doctoral researchers. This position entails contacting participating institutions for survey completion, answering the help desk phone, and towards the end of survey collection examining collected data to determine whether it was accurately reported and following up with institutions. The IC should have good command over writing and be able to formulate questions in a thoughtful precise manner so institutional staff can read and respond accurately.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for making out bound prompting calls to institutions for survey completion

  • Answering questions that come in through the Help Desk 800 number and mailbox

  • Participate in the survey review and retrieval efforts at the end of data collection

  • Examine trends in the reported data to determine any year-to-year inconsistencies that require follow up by the respondents

  • Read survey comments, recognize when comments suffice as an explanation for changes in trend data, and recognize when follow up is needed by insufficient explanations

  • Accurately document the details of phone conversations with users ? focusing on the situation, task, action, and result of the conversation


Education Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher


Desired Background/Skills:


  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

  • Familiarity with organizations engaged in higher education and research desirable


Qualifications:


  • Prior experience in reviewing/editing/cleaning data

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to draw inferences from data

  • Ability to communicate clearly and precisely in verbal written form

  • Excellent active listening skills

  • Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills, above average vocal presentation, problem-solving skills and data management skills

  • Maintain timely responses to verbal or written requests from business participants
