Healthcare Billing Specialist


Job Description:

Our partner, a national provider of diagnostic testing located in Greensboro, North Carolina, has an immediate need for a Healthcare Billing Specialist. This position will serve as a liaison between branches/regional laboratories and customers in response to audit and analyze billing issues along with recording and updating demographics. This position is a first shift, contract-to-hire position, Monday through Friday 8am- 5pm.


Responsibilities:


  • Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer problems

  • Prepare and sort documents for data entry

  • Perform a wide variety of administrative/clerical duties (i.e., payroll, paternity testing results, billing, data entry and phlebotomy related questions)

  • Review and enter data updates in the systems

  • Operate automated data systems to record and verify billing/accounts receivable information, customer demographic data and laboratory data identification information

  • Answer telephones, maintain logs/records


Education Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent


Desired Background/Skills:


  • 1-3 years of relevant inbound call center experience

  • Resume and professional references required

  • Must complete typing test and meet minimum requires for speed and accuracy


Qualifications:


  • Effective written and verbal communication

  • Excellent typing skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Proficient with numbers

  • Able to utilize computerized databases, quickly and accurately research information and effectively manage time
