Grants & Contracts Coordinator


Job Description:

Our client a nonprofit that serves the Wilmington community by renovating homes is adding a Grants & Contract Coordinator to their team. The Grants & Contract Coordinator will coordinate all stages of private and government funding relationships for this thriving nonprofit. Compensation is $40,000 per year, health insurance benefits, disability insurance, PTO & paid holidays, and professional development opportunities.


Responsibilities:


  • Research private, corporate, and government funding sources in order to find new opportunites

  • Ensure mission alignment; determine funder requirements

  • Serve as point of contact with funder's grant officer

  • Prepare applications

  • Maintain deadline calendar; apply at least 3 days before deadline

  • Compile internal information (reports, budget, corporate documents)

  • Collect external information (board member signature, letter of support)

  • Create and manage accounts in funder portals

  • Manage grant related information in WARM database (Salesforce.com)

  • Develop proposals

  • Research subject matter as needed

  • Revise previously written material and write new material as needed; may be repurposed for marketing and other promotional opportunities

  • Facilitate review process

  • Conduct post award activities

  • Finalize budget

  • Submit requested post award documentation to funder

  • Hold kickoff meeting with staff for new awards

  • Provide financial reporting, case working, and construction requirements to staff

  • Set up new procedures as needed

  • Report to funders

  • Write success stories and evaluation


Education Requirements:


  • Associates Degree required

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred


Desired Background/Skills:


  • 2 years in a similar position


Qualifications:


  • Superior writing skills

  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • 3+ years organization or administration experience

  • Detail oriented administrative professional with outstanding writing skills who strives for excellence, enjoys variety, takes initiative, is positive and reliable, and has a heart for serving others.
