Global Director of IT

Job Description:

Our client, located in Cary, NC, is seeking a skilled Global Director of IT to add to their team! This role is responsible for developing and executing the Company's global IT strategy. This individual will work to not only secure the operation of information systems but develop and execute plans for continuous improvement of the company's systems, software and associated processes. They will provide leadership and direction to ensure the organizational goals are met by developing an IT strategy to support the company's overall strategic plan. This is a full time, direct hire opportunity that offers competitive benefits and PTO.


  • Ensure the health of the organization as it relates to IT infrastructure management, business continuity (high availability, disaster recovery), hardware and software lifecycle management, and capacity planning.

  • Identify and eliminate security vulnerabilities ensuring compliance with government regulations (e.g. GDPR) and customer requirements related to data security balanced with operational practicality.

  • Strengthen the IT Support team and organize policies around issue reporting and handling, to include metrics around internal/external satisfaction with company's IT Support.

  • Oversee the implementation of integrations with clients, vendors and technical partners, ensuring data security, scalability and service availability (E.g. company ERPs and Customer EDI).

  • Support future progress of the business by determining business requirements for IT and proposing new technical solutions that align with corporate objectives.

  • Develop a 5 year strategic plan for the company's overall IT platform to include the approach and timing for the company's Software Systems ( E.g. ERP, CRM, and digital workflows) as well as hardware.

Education Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Science in programming, computer science, computer engineering, a related field required.

Desired Background/Skills:


    • 10+ years' experience managing employees within an IT environment (systems or software background). Project management experience required.

    • Experience with network administration and support; vendor management required.

    • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills.

    • Knowledge of SOX regulations and/or financial audit/compliance requirements required.

    • Experience developing metrics/policies for hardware, software, and storage.

    • Experience with infrastructure capacity planning (servers and physical office requirements).

    • Ability to teach and motivate individuals both within and outside direct control.

    • Enthusiasm and passion for what they do and for the business.

    • Proactive, self-starting, intrinsically motivated and requires little direction before action

    • Analytical competency to process and structure qualitative and quantitative data with the ability to help others understand it and make informed business decisions.

    • Collaborate with peers and provide leadership and guidance when needed.
