Facilities Technician


Job Description:

Our client, in Morrisvile, NC, is seeking a Facilities Technician to add to their team! This individual will be responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds for our client, including duties associated with purchasing and stocking supplies for kitchens and conference rooms. This is a full time, contract to hire opportunity.


Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate with Meeting Coordinator to prepare for meetings and events

  • Interface with organizations using the client's space to assure appropriate plans for set-up and clean up are in place

  • Set up and break down tables and chairs for events, set up beverage service, etc

  • Assure supplies are stocked

  • Provide early morning or after hours coordination, as needed

  • Monitor inventory of coffee and kitchen supplies and restock cabinets throughout the building

  • Monitor and restock countertop items in restrooms as needed

  • Coordinate with maintenance contractors and vendors to supervise and monitor extermination, plumbing, appliance maintenance, electrical and other services as needed

  • Plan and perform basic building repairs, miscellaneous jobs and handyman work as needed

  • Maintain inventory of facilities supplies supplies

  • Replace light bulbs and perform other regular maintenance as needed

  • Perform a variety of preventive maintenance tasks including but not limited to floor drain maintenance

  • On a daily basis, inspect and maintain the exterior premises (grounds, building, and parking area), including removal of debris

  • Other duties as requested or assigned by management


Education Requirements:


  • High school graduate or GED

    Qualifications:


    • 3 or more years experience with related skilled trades

    • Organization and planning skills

    • Attention to detail

    • Physical ability to perform non-technical job requirements

    • Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and other construction trades preferred

    • Communication skills (verbal, written) to gather feedback and get clarity on miscellaneous job duties

    • While performing the functions of this job, the employee is occasionally required to lift, carry (up to 25 pounds), stoop, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, push, pull or perform other physical activities
