ETL Developer

Job Description:

Our client, based in RTP, is searching for an ETL Developer to add to their team. This individual will be responsible for helping design solutions that revolutionize how customers interact with their mission-critical data applications and how these applications perform. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, a strong appreciation for data-centric design, automation, a love of technology, excellent communication, and a strong work ethic.


  • Inbound/outbound data integration (ETL)

  • Data Quality (DQ) and Data Director (DD) development

  • Perform maintenance/tuning of match rules and expectations

  • Apply data quality techniques such as match, merge, profiling, score carding, data standardization, and parsing using enterprise data quality platforms

  • Troubleshoot and resolve MDM related issues

  • Collaborate with source systems, data stewards, and technical personnel for data governance and to resolve any data quality or technical issues related to data ingestion

  • Develop and maintain Data Integration solutions requiring ETL (extract, transform and load) capabilities

  • Develop best of breed data integration process to support client data services and internal application integration

  • Monitor MDM services to ensure appropriate performance, to correct errors, to isolate areas for improvement, and for general debugging

  • Assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications, as they relate to the data warehouse and other data integration services

  • Collaborate with data re-mediators, database administrators, network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to help resolve problems with MDM and data integration service applications

Education Requirements:

  • College diploma or university degree in computer science / technical field, or equivalent work experience.

Desired Background/Skills:

  • 3 + years of experience in an industry-standard MDM tool (iWay Omni-Gen, IBM InfoSphere, SAP MDM / Informatica MDM, Orchestra Networks)

  • 3+ years of experience in SQL Server 2012/2016 database development, with an emphasis on Master Data Management, Data Integration (ETL) methodologies and technologies.

  • 3+ years of experience using SQL, JAVA, JSON, and API?s

  • Knowledge of waterfall and agile software development life cycles

  • Excellent follow through and initiative, and ability to complete tasks accurately and on-time

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Word, Visio, Excel)


  • Experienced in building Master Data Management systems in an enterprise MDM environment using MDM tools such as Information Builders iWay (Omni-Gen), Informatica Master Data Management, Orchestra Networks, or SAP MDM

  • Strong technical skills for Master Data Management platform, including solution architecture

  • Ability to design, develop and translate business requirements and processes for data matching and merging rules, survivor-ship criteria, and data stewardship workflows using master data management solutions

  • Experience with troubleshooting and resolving MDM related issues and provide proven solutions, aligning with master data strategies and best practices

  • Consistently work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Experience with Healthcare data management, and healthcare-related terminologies including Master Patient and Provider is a bonus

  • Strong work ethic and ability to be highly responsive to business needs

  • Pro-active and self-driven

  • Strong verbal and writing skills, and the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff alike
