Engineering Manager - Machinery

Job Description:

Our client, a leader in the development of high-speed blow molding and injection molding machinery, has an immediate opening for an experienced Engineering Manager - Machinery. The Engineering Manager - Machinery will be responsible for ensuring cost, schedule, and quality goals are met on multiple complex machinery design project, while ensuring customer service standards are exceeded. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Operations with exposure to the full cycle of system design including pre-sale to the hand off to the customer, completing the process. This is a key role in a progressive, fast paced business environment with opportunities to play an integral role in facilitating a project from inception to completion.


  • Coordinate efforts of cross-functional project team including sales, engineering, purchasing and production to meet project objectives.

  • Coordinate tasks and resources across multiple, simultaneous projects through the entire project lifecycle.

  • Proactively manage risks, contract changes, and communication with both internal and external project stakeholders.

  • Strengthen business relationships with customers by driving superior customer satisfaction.

  • Prepare and review project deliverables ensuring internal project documentation is complete.

  • Provide technical leadership during project execution.

  • Designs and controls documentation of engineering performed.

  • Manage project cost, schedule, and quality.

  • Support engineering and field service teams during installation, startup, and commissioning as required, including site management when necessary.

  • Hires and trains new personnel.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Engineering,

  • MBA desirable.

Desired Background/Skills:


    • Related experience in manufacturing or project management required.

    • Ability to produce 2D and 3D drawings, schematics and bills of material.

    • Ability to use Inventor or SolidWorks desired.

    • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, motion and control components required.

    • Ability to read CAD drawings, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams and/or electrical schematics required.

    • Proven experience designing mechanical equipment strongly preferred.

    • Specialization in one or more specific fields of mechanical engineering such as hydraulics, controls, electro-mechanics or similar preferred.

    • Ability to successfully collaborate with engineers, vendors, and customers required.

    • Proven track record of being self-motivated, and leading diverse team members required.

    • Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently, retain a sense of urgency and meet strict timelines required.

    • Conduct oneself with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards.

    • Valid passport and willing to travel up to 5%.
