Engineering Internship (CREE)


Job Description:

Cree is seeking an Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering major intern to join the Consumer Lighting Group located in Durham, NC. This is a 3 month summer internship with the potential for this to transition into a co-op role after the summer with flexible hours to accommodate school schedules. The summer schedule will be full-time, Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist the electrical engineering team with power electronics and embedded system development for the next generation LED lighting and intelligent system

  • Assigned tasks that support the design, integration, implementation, testing, and qualification of various sub-systems

  • A successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional team and solve technical obstacles


Education Requirements:


  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering

Qualifications:


  • Hands-on experience in bench testing and lab equipment ? oscilloscope, multi-meter, power supply, etc.

  • Knowledge in microcontroller, power electronics, AC-DC/DC-DC topologies, analog and digital circuits

  • Demonstrated experiences with C/C++ programming, Python, assembly languages, and embedded system

  • Perform new product qualification test, troubleshooting, simulation, prototype build, and competitive analysis

  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with cross-functional team to ensure project success
