Director of Production


Job Description:

Our client, a local electronics manufacturer that is rapidly growing in their international presence, is seeking a Director of Production to help drive their team. This individual will lead, develop, and deploy process innovation and facilitate the sharing of best practices across production lines. You will also be accountable to deliver and to manage key initiatives that impact multiple production lines, assure throughput and meeting of daily production metrics and manage five direct reports and 30 indirect. Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with Line Leaders, Directors of Quality and Product Engineering, and outside Lean Experts to develop, deploy and maintain the Strategy to Excellence plan and attain daily production metrics

  • Lead efforts to advance the skills of all production employees and report progress

  • Facilitate targeted development of events and implement improvements

  • Attain, analyze, and report KPI's and drive continuous improvement

  • Create, execute, and maintain production capabilities road map

  • Act as Project Manager for strategic initiatives


Education Requirements:


  • Bachelor's in engineering or related field


Desired Background/Skills:



    Qualifications:


    • Multiple years of hands-on operations experience in leading a manufacturing team

    • Extensive experience in lean deployment and Kaizen event leadership/facilitation

    • 6 Sigma Black Belt certification a plus

    • Extensive Project Management experience and proficiency in Microsoft Project

    • Qualified to train and utilize key Lean/Continuous Improvement disciplines (ie. Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Line Balancing, Visual Management, Lean Daily Management, 5S, Kanban, Problem Solving, etc.)

    • Outstanding facilitation and problem-solving skills

    • Must be self-directed, well organized and have good follow-up skills

    • Excellent written and oral communication & presentation skills

    • Strong leadership capabilities and interpersonal skills

    • Demonstrated ability to lead without direct authority

    • Solid PC skills including proficiency in all MS Office applications
