Job Description:

Our client, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting innovative ways of fighting all cancers affecting women, is seeking a Director of Development to join their team! This position holds the primary responsibility of securing multi-year partnerships, as well as national and local corporate sponsorships for events. The ideal candidate will work directly with the CEO to provide strategic leadership and will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive development program designed to increase revenue. The success of this position requires managing the entire sales cycle, including developing leads, executing viable prospects meetings and securing event sponsorship and corporate revenue. This is a full time, direct hire opportunity in Raleigh!


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement a comprehensive development plan.

  • Identify, cultivate, steward and track multiple prospects.

  • Spearhead efforts to identify and obtain new multi-year partnerships corporate sponsorships and foundation contributions.

  • Connect the state of North Carolina (Raleigh, Greensboro, Charlotte, Wilmington and Asheville) to the organization by securing new corporate partnerships, as well as creating new events.

  • Build and maintain a portfolio of key relationships with external stake-holders including donors, board members, corporate and foundation partners.

  • Produce and provide regular detailed accountability reports about the organization?s fundraising operations, including accurate forecasting of sales.

  • Work with the Director of Communication to prepare and produce fundraising-related marketing materials.

  • Work directly with Director of Community Partners to leverage third-party events.

  • Travel as needed to meet with potential donors and business leaders.

  • Work flexible hours that include some evenings and weekends.

  • Be ready, willing and able to take on other duties as assigned.


Education Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree is required.


Desired Background/Skills:



    Qualifications:


    • 5 years of proven sales experience.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Sales Force/CRM and online fundraising.
