Job Description:

As a Customer Service Representative you are more than an employee. You are a key driver in fulfilling the mission of one of the top research institutions in the world. Join a team of highly-trained interviewers as you work to improve the human condition in over 40 countries. The Customer Service Representative will draw from strong customer service experience to collect critical research data from survey participants. Your work will touch on important societal issues and provide data that informs policy programs while contributing to the body of survey science research. No sales or cold calls. Split schedules working Monday- Friday starting at 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm available. Part-time hours available beginning at 5:30pm, 6pm or 6:30pm. Minimum of 20 hours / week with 8 hours on the weekend required for part-time employees. Positions starting at $12.50 - $13.50 depending on schedule and skill set.


  • Collect information from survey participant over the telephone for a variety of projects

  • Communicate the goals of the survey to participants and explain why their participation is valuable

  • Engage and respond to participants by following a scripted questionnaire to collect research data

  • Record data accurately into a computer system while speaking with participants

  • Encourage participation from those who have previously chosen not to participate

  • Attend all mandatory training sessions related to survey data collection

  • Maintain quality standards for data collection

Education Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED required

Desired Background/Skills:


    • Customer service experience in office environment, business to business or call center required

    • Effective telephone interviewing etiquette, inflection, and communication skills

    • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with supervisors and coworkers

    • Perform data entry tasks while speaking on the phone

    • Type at least 30 words per minute, with 95% accuracy
