Job Description:

Our client, located in the RTP area, is seeking a skilled AV Specialist to add to their team! This individual will be responsible for configuring, supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining workstations and audio-visual (AV) hardware in conference rooms, collaboration spaces, and select offices. Any person applying should have advanced technical troubleshooting and support skills in at least a workstation/desktop setting. This position will require creating and updating all supporting documentation as well as being a direct customer interface. Additionally, the AV Specialist position will provide support and testing of video and audio systems to determine the system functionality issues within the customer environment and will complete all assigned incident tickets and tasks to resolution. In this position you will work directly with other team members within the organization for day to day resolution of customer tickets. You will also from time to time be expected to communicate internally with project managers, ITS managers, facilities managers, engineering staff, and other departments to keep all parties up to date on the resolution of customer tickets. Responsibilities:


  • Provide AV and technical end user support for all staff, including executives

  • Provide end user training on the AV systems and related technology (such as BlueJeans, Webex) as directed

  • Ensure room process/procedures are documented and communicated to all end users to ensure smooth operations of conference room and equipment

  • Report and document conference service requests and provide results for inclusion in the Monthly Metrics Reports provided by the Management team to the Client

  • Provide high level of customer service to all customers who require AV support and desktop/workstation support

  • Setup, troubleshooting, testing, operation, and tear down of AV and video conference equipment

  • Provide best effort assistance to fulfill any technical needs as assigned, including all Client collaboration tools (BlueJeans, WebEx, AT&T, Teams, etc.)

  • Execute and assist staff in all aspects of AV support including call set up, end user training, troubleshooting, and follow through on escalation of trouble issues

  • Provide consultation and education to all levels of end users on AV equipment, technology, and workstation/desktop integrations

  • Troubleshoot workstation/desktop, AV and videoconferencing related technology (various projectors, control systems, audio and videoconferencing) to complete resolution when issues occur

  • Escalate facilities and other technical issues outside of AV and conferencing technology and applications to appropriate department(s)

  • Interface with technology and installation/maintenance vendors for equipment servicing, training, etc. whether warranty or routine maintenance as directed

  • Maintain understanding of current and new technology

  • Other duties as assigned


Education Requirements:


  • High School Diploma/GED

    • Ability to troubleshooting of AV systems - Cisco, Barco, custom, etc.
