Job Description:

Our client a nonprofit that serves the Wilmington community by renovating homes is adding an Administrative Assistant to their team to provide exceptional reception and administrative support. Looking for a detail oriented administrative professional who strives for excellence, enjoys variety, takes initiative, can multi-task, is positive and reliable, and has a heart for serving others. Hours M-F 8am-5pm Pay $16hr Benefits include health insurance, disability insurance, PTO and paid holidays


  • Answer, and be proficient in operation of, multi-line phone system

  • Greet all walk-ins and appointments

  • Screen prospective applicants via phone; send applications and make referrals

  • Stay informed and respond to inquiries about WARM events and services

  • Inventory office supplies and submit orders to Finance Team for purchasing

  • Ensure office equipment is functioning, contact appropriate technicians

  • Take notes at staff meetings and email summary to all employees

  • Enter data using and run reports as requested

  • Prepare electronic and hard copy correspondence to homeowners and supporters

  • Special projects and research for Executive Director

  • Assists the Development, Program, and Executive Teams.

  • Complete other duties as directed

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • College degree preferred

Desired Background/Skills:


    • 3+ years executive administrative and reception experience in professional office setting

    • Nonprofit experience preferred

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Ability to maintain focus and productivity with frequent interruptions

    • Ability to multi-task and think quickly

    • Desire to work with elderly, disabled, and other low-income populations

    • Outstanding computer skills to include demonstrated experience with email, data entry ( preferred), internet searches, and Microsoft Office 365 including MS Teams.

    • Understanding of basic office equipment

    • Flexibility, responsiveness, resiliency, and ability to think ahead

    • Attention to detail

    • Appreciation for diversity, including people of various faiths and backgrounds

    • Adaptable to new situations

    • Ability to work independently and manage time wisely

    • Sense of humor
