Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Description:

Our client, a global non-profit, is looking to hire a contract Accounts Payable Specialist to join their growing team. This position will be primarily responsible for processing a high volume of invoices and reviewing documentation using Optical Character Recognition. This contract is structured to last at least 9 months and can be worked remotely.


  • Serve as an Accounts Payable Specialist preforming invoice processing (approximately 600-1000 per month) maintaining an average turn around time of 3 days from the receipt of the invoice.

  • Periodically audit and validate current processes for compliance.

  • Coordinate the receiving of documentation utilizing OCR (Optical Character Recognition)

  • Comply with regulations regarding the retention of invoice and payment documentation.

  • Serve as liaison between internal units and external customers to address queries relating to invoices and payments; resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Work to support other accounting tasks required by the organization

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma and 6 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in working with OCR Technology.

  • Experience using OnBase.

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel.
