Accounts Payable Clerk - Part Time


Job Description:

Our client, a well known non-profit, is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team! This is a contract to hire, part-time position based in Raleigh, NC.


Responsibilities:


  • Check and verify accounts payable records, purchase orders, check requests, and invoices for completeness.

  • Prepare purchase orders, check requests, and invoices for payment and coordinate payments with vendors.

  • Add new vendors or update vendor information in the accounts payable module.

  • Research vendor and / or invoice discrepancies.

  • Input and post invoices into Accounts Payable module and reconcile billing statements.

  • Run system reports to verify and balance accounts payable.

  • Generate and distribute or mail accounts payable checks.

  • Assist in the annual 1099-Misc. filing with to the IRS and the State of North Carolina.

  • Other duties may be to reconcile small accounts, running vendor queries, help prepare semiannual sales tax reimbursement filing with the North Carolina Department of Revenue, and entering and posting journal entries.


Education Requirements:


  • Associate's degree in accounting preferred


Desired Background/Skills:


  • Experience using PeopleSoft is a plus


Qualifications:


  • Experience in general ledger software such as PeopleSoft,Great Plains or MAS90 or similar

  • Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills and accuracy are important qualifications for this position

  • Good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly.

  • Skilled multi-tasker, is reliable and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines.
