Accountant / Office Manager

Job Description:

Our client, a full-service general contracting company in Wilmington, is seeking an Accountant / Office Manager to join their team. The Accountant / Office Manager will complete all accounting responsibilities and oversee the functions of a small office. The Accountant / Office Manager will work Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with occasional overtime. This position offers generous compensation and excellent benefits!


  • Perform accounting functions to include: A/P and A/R, in-house payroll and tax payments, quarterly reports, general ledger, journal entries and bank reconciliations

  • Oversee employee benefits, certificates of insurance, and other various HR responsibilities

  • Maintain office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems and procedures

  • Design and implement office policies by establishing standards and procedures; measuring results against standards; making necessary adjustments

  • Maintain a small office staff by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results

Education Requirements:

  • REQUIRED Bachelor's degree in accounting

  • or Bachelor's degree in business administration with concentration in accounting

Desired Background/Skills:

  • Experience in an accounting position highly preferred

  • Experience with Foundation software a plus


  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases

  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills

  • Knowledge of GAAP
