Payroll Supervisor
Job Description:
Our client, the owner and operator of one of the largest fast food franchises in North Carolina and Southern Virginia, is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to work on-site in their Raleigh office. This position is responsible for processing the weekly payroll in accordance with all federal and state laws.
Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration (Internal process, not outsourced)
Oversee internal weekly payroll process for 2,700+ employees: Review and input administrative payroll data into payroll system; Review and input location payroll data into payroll system
Transmit weekly ACH direct deposit file and positive pay file
Direct the activities of 4 Payroll Coordinators assigned to department
Process monthly commissions payroll
Process fringe benefits year end payroll for W-2 purposes
Process weekly payroll taxes
Prepare and submit quarterly and annual tax filings (940 and 941)
Oversee year-end W-2 processing via Equifax and magnetic media
Oversee ESC claims, hearings, and appeals
Calculate end of month payroll accruals and submit to CFO for review
Upload weekly New Hire Reporting data to NC and VA employment agencies
Responsible for weekly submission of WOTC data to ADP
Maintain personnel files for management and Office employees
Serve as subject matter expert for other Payroll personnel regarding payroll processes
Ensure payroll compliance with all applicable state laws and regulations
Education Requirements:
Associates or Bachelor's degree
Desired Background/Skills:
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding payroll administration
Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion and good judgment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher)
Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
Effective at prioritizing multiple projects
Ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner
Ability to work both independently and as a part of a larger team
Ability to adapt to new processes and technologies
Strong problem solving and organizational skills are required
Qualifications:
Minimum 7+ years of payroll processing & supervisory experience
