Job Description:
Our client is seeking an Accounts Receivable Assistant to join their team! The AR Assistant has a variety of duties and responsibilities, including processing and verifying recipts, maintaining customer information and records in various systems, maintaining invoices, and resolving account discrepancies. The AR Assistant will be skilled in communicating with customers, cross-departmental teams, and will collaborate closely with team members. This is a hybrid, contract to hire opportunity based in Wilmington, NC.
Responsibilities:
Process all incoming receipts using multiple payment methods.
Apply all receipts to customer accounts on a daily basis.
Identify, investigate and resolve any payment discrepancies.
Monitor various email accounts, action any requests and escalate where appropriate daily.
Respond to inbound calls and emails for all account queries and escalate where appropriate.
Liaise with cross-organizational departments on customer queries.
Communicate with customers regarding overdue invoices via phone and email.
Produce and issue statements.
Other accounts receivable duties as required.
Education Requirements:
Associate degree in business administration or accounting required.
Desired Background/Skills:
2+ years of relevant experience within a Finance or Accounting Department.
Experience in and exposure to accounts receivable.
High degree of comfortability in Excel.
Experience in ERP systems, a plus.
Must be comfortable with communicating with customers via phone.
Organized, structured, ability to prioritize with great attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and effectively in a team setting.
Ability to collaborate, support and assist other department members as necessary.
Highly motivated and strong ability to multi-task.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
