Project Support Specialist


Job Description:

Our client seeks a participant support specialist to work on community engaged environmental health research projects: removing asbestos, lead based paint and 'lead in water,' in public education buildings across the state of NC. The participant support specialist will communicate directly with program participants using a customer support platform to help answer questions, solve problems, and provide support. This is a long term contract opportunity, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM. Remote or hybrid in RTP


Responsibilities:


  • Respond to participant inquiries in a timely and accurate manner via phone, email, or help desk software (i.e., Zendesk).

  • Identify participant needs and resolve specific issues using program knowledge or communication with project team members.

  • Follow standard operating procedures or protocols with training.

  • Perform clerical, administrative, and general office duties that may document preparation, data entry, record and file maintenance, and scheduling meetings utilizing Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Smartsheet, and other project management software.


Education Requirements:


  • High School Diploma and 4 years of experience or

  • Associates Degree and 2 years of experience, or

  • Bachelors Degree from a 4 year college or university or

  • equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience comfortably talking with a variety of people.

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.


Desired Background/Skills:


  • The following are a PLUS:

  • Knowledge of the environmental or public health field.

  • Practical experience with customer support platforms or help desk software (e.g., Zendesk, JIRA).

  • Practical experience working with child care facilities or schools.


Qualifications:


  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • The ability to act as a natural problem solver.

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • The ability to multitask efficiently and in a timely manner.

  • The ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and written.

  • The ability to utilize and learn computer based tools.
