Senior Compensation Specialist

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Compensation Specialist Process Engineering and Control Design to join the global Compensation, Benefits & Payroll team in the People function. This role is a compensation subject matter expert who will be involved in ensuring effective and efficient services, reporting, analysis, and support of Global/Regional/Divisional projects in the Compensation organization. The candidate will need to understand a nuanced compensation structure that is continually adapting to changing regulations and firm-wide initiatives. This role will also support the migration to a new Compensation system as part of a broader People function initiative to transform data management. This is a role in a dynamic environment at the center of firm-wide compensation strategy and support. The candidate will join a small team and collaborate with partners/collaborators across the firm, both within and outside the People function.   • Build and develop relationships with key partners such as People, Legal, Payroll and Financial Control

  • Prepares financial statements to summarize and forecast the company's financial status

  • Produces and manages balance sheets and analyze future earnings and expenses

  • Assists with management of accounting, auditing and budgeting within the organization

  • Assists with preparations for audits

  • Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances

  • Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports

  • Delegates accounting tasks to junior accounting staff

  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

Desired Background/Skills:

  • Ability to re-engineer existing processes to align with HR operating systems

  • Ability to handle problems and take initiative to deliver solutions that are fit for purpose

  • Diligent, results oriented individual with attention to details, excellent work ethic and an organized approach to handling multiple priorities and tight timelines

  • Ability to implement excellent process controls to ensure effective and efficient utilization while minimizing risk

  • Proficient communication skills both written and verbal

  • Ability to manage work well under pressure

  • Integrity to handle very confidential information - being discreet, proactive, resourceful and flexible

  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive culture and value varied perspectives


  • 6-10 years of experience working with compensation / financial data

  • 3-5 years of experience leading teams / workstreams

  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office (In particular mastery of Excel including using complex formulas to analyze data)

  • Proficiency in Human Resource information management systems preferred

  • Prior experience within a financial services industry preferred
