Senior GL Accountant Consultant
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced General Ledger Accountant Consultant to lead a comprehensive reconciliation of all 2024 balance sheet accounts. This role focuses on resolving complex financial discrepancies in accrued payroll and deferred revenue as part of a large-scale cleanup project. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in working independently and making strategic recommendations to enhance financial processes.
Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive reconciliations of 2024 balance sheet accounts, ensuring compliance with GAAP).
Focus on reconciling complex accounts including payroll, deferred revenue, intercompany balances, and other accounts as requested by the company.
Identify, analyze, and resolve discrepancies in account reconciliations.
Review existing general ledger processes and recommend process improvements around the reconciled accounts.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather documentation and ensure entries are properly supported.
Prepare detailed reports on reconciliation findings and provide actionable recommendations.
Utilize NetSuite and Google Sheets to manage data, create reports, and maintain accurate records.
Ensure all reconciliations are completed in a timely manner, supporting the overall GL clean-up process
Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely completion of reconciliations.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Desired Background/Skills:
Proficiency in NetSuite ERP software.
Advanced skills in Google Sheets, including data analysis and advanced functions.
Familiarity with other financial systems is a plus.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication skills for making strategic recommendations.
Ability to work independently and manage projects with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a GL Accountant or in a similar role.
Proven expertise in balance sheet reconciliations and large-scale cleanup projects.
Strong knowledge of reconciling complex accounts such as payroll, deferred revenue, equity, accrued Payroll and intercompany balances.
Other Information:
This is a consulting role focused on achieving financial accuracy and cleanup of the general ledger.
Responsibilities include preparing adjustments for approval and ensuring all general ledger activity transitions into NetSuite.
The consultant will provide recommendations for best practices and future process enhancements.
Prepaids and fixed assets are excluded from reconciliation requirements.
Work may be hybrid, remote, or on-site, depending on company policy.
Must exclusively use Google Sheets (Excel is not utilized).
